About Me and My Family

My name is John Alexander Toro Ramírez, and this blog is a reflection of my process of learning English as a second language. Through different activities, I have developed my speaking, writing, listening and critical thinking skills.

I come from a close and supportive family. My family has taught me the importance of respect, responsibility, and constant learning. We enjoy spending time together, talking about everyday life and current events. These conversations have helped me practice descriptive language and express ideas in English.

My Hobbies and Interests

In my free time, I enjoy activities that help me relax and grow intellectually. One of my favorite hobbies is learning about technology and digital tools. I also like watching movies, listening to music, and reading articles in English to improve my vocabulary.

Hobbies play an important role in language learning because they make practice enjoyable and meaningful. When I talk or write about things I love, I feel more confident expressing myself in English.

My Work and Professional Goals

I work in the IT field, where English is essential for professional growth. Many technical documents, courses, and tools are available mainly in English, so improving my language skills is a priority.

My professional goal is to continue developing my technical knowledge while strengthening my communication skills in English. This course has helped me express opinions, explain processes, and discuss professional topics with more clarity.

Travels and Cultural Experiences

Traveling allows people to learn not only about places but also about cultures, languages, and perspectives. Although I have not traveled abroad extensively, learning English has opened a window to global cultures through media, documentaries, and virtual experiences.

Understanding English helps me connect with people from different countries and appreciate diversity. Language learning is also cultural learning.

Critical Thinking and Media Literacy

In today’s digital world, critical thinking and media literacy are essential skills. We are constantly exposed to information through social networks, news platforms, and videos. Not all information is accurate or objective.

Learning English has helped me analyze international news, compare different sources, and question the reliability of information. Media literacy allows us to think critically, identify bias, and make informed decisions.

Developing these skills is important not only for language learning but also for being a responsible and informed citizen.

Crime and Punishment

Crime and punishment are complex topics that involve legal, social, and ethical aspects. Different societies handle crime in different ways, depending on their laws, culture, and values.

From my perspective, punishment should not only focus on penalty but also on rehabilitation and prevention. Education and social opportunities can help reduce crime and promote safer communities.
